Welcome The Latest Addition To The Family: The Mp5 Player
If you already own a mp3 or mp4, do you really need a mp5 player? Has technology advanced enough in so little time that it’s worth going out and spending another $60 to a $100 or maybe more? The short answer is yes. Technology moves faster than you think.
The difference is with technology, you could have just gone out and bought your first mp3 player. When you get home and start to download some tunes onto your new tech toy, you see the commercial for the brand-new mp5 player from Sony. Ideally, we’d all like to keep up with the times, but our wallets don’t always cooperate.
But what does this mean for the consumer? Specifically, those of us in the market for a mp player. It has barely been more than twelve years since the mass production of the first mp3 and already we’re introduced to the mp5 player. What started as a market for digital audio players has transformed into a cash cow with new products hitting the shelves at a record pace.
When the mp3 was introduced on a major level, the portable cd player was the preferred media player. Brand names like Walkman were known in every house hold. Then the ipod stormed onto the scene. Soon after that, the digital audio player became the portable media player. More than just a name change this new application allowed videos to be converted and watch on media players.
Technology took us to the mp4 without us knowing. There was little to no fan fair. Consumers walked into stores to buy mp3s one day and there were mp4s sitting there right next to them. Obviously there were upgrades, but nothing earth shattering. In truth, the mp4 label only signified the player as a predecessor of the mp3.
The mp5 player is the new kid in town. Unlike it’s own predecessors, this version of the pmp (portable media players) has made a significant jump. Most standard mp5 players come with digital video recording that records up to a half hour worth of footage. Internet videos can be downloaded in Rmvb format allowing users to skip the conversion process and watch videos as soon as their done downloading. Also, mp5 players support a broader selection of media formats. New tech advances such as Wi-Fi, G. P. S., and Blue- tooth work seamlessly with the newest version of the media player, making it more than just a profitable rehash.
